Candidate FAQ
What happens when you're referred
How the confirmation process works, what a warm introduction means for your application, and how to track your status once you're in the pipeline.
Being Referred
How does someone get referred on Credora?+
A professional in your network — someone you've worked with or who knows your work firsthand — submits a written introduction on your behalf for a specific role at a verified company. They write it, the platform scores it for quality and relevance, and if it meets the company's threshold, you enter their candidate queue.
Did I apply for this job?+
Technically, your referrer submitted on your behalf. You may receive an email from Credora asking you to confirm your participation. Until you confirm, the referral is in a pending state — the company won't see it as an active application. You're in control of whether to proceed.
What if I didn't know I was being referred?+
Referrers are expected to get your permission before submitting an introduction. If you receive a confirmation email and weren't aware of the referral, you can simply ignore it — the referral will not proceed without your confirmation. If you have concerns, contact us at the email on the confirmation message.
Can I apply directly on Credora without a referrer?+
Credora is a referral-only platform — every application comes through a professional introduction. If you want to access roles on Credora, the best path is to connect with professionals in your network who are already on the platform, or to join the waitlist as a candidate to be matched with referrers in your domain.
The Confirmation Process
What is the confirmation step?+
After a referrer submits your introduction, you'll receive an email with a secure link. Clicking it takes you to a short confirmation page where you verify your name, LinkedIn profile (optional but recommended), and consent to the application. This takes under two minutes.
Do I need a Credora account to confirm?+
No. You can confirm using only the secure link in the email — no account is required. If you later want to track your application status, you can create an account at any time using the same email address.
What happens if I don't confirm?+
If you don't confirm within a reasonable window, the referral stays in a pending state. The company won't see it in their active queue. Your referrer may send a reminder. If you're no longer interested, you can decline through the confirmation link — this gives the referrer closure and doesn't negatively affect them.
Is my information shared with the company before I confirm?+
No. Your name and LinkedIn are not shared with the hiring company until you confirm. The referrer's introduction is visible to the company, but your personal details are only revealed after you've given consent.
Your Application in the Pipeline
How do I know where my application stands?+
Once confirmed, you can track your application at credorahire.com/apply/status using the same email address. You'll see your current pipeline stage: Queue → Accepted → Screening → Technical → Final Round → Offer. Your referrer also receives notifications at each stage, so they can keep you updated directly.
What does it mean when a company 'accepts' my application?+
Accepting moves you from the candidate queue into the company's active interview pipeline. It means a hiring manager has reviewed your introduction and decided to engage. You should expect to hear from the company's recruiter or hiring manager within a few business days of acceptance.
What happens if the company rejects my application?+
You'll be notified by email. Rejections on Credora are not personal — hiring managers are reviewing dozens of submissions and making fast decisions based on current role needs. Your referrer is also notified. A rejection on one role doesn't affect your ability to be referred to other companies or roles on the platform.
Can my referrer see where I am in the process?+
Yes. Your referrer can see your pipeline stage in their referrer portal. They see when you've been accepted, when you advance through interview stages, and when a hire is confirmed. This is intentional — referrers who've vouched for you should be in the loop.
Warm Referrals vs. Cold Applications
What makes a Credora referral different from a LinkedIn InMail or a cold apply?+
A warm referral on Credora comes with three things a cold application never has:
1. A named professional vouching for you — someone who's worked with you and is financially backing their endorsement.
2. An AI-scored introduction that gives the hiring manager a quality signal before they read a single resume.
3. A personal relationship with your advocate — your referrer knows who you are, can speak to your work, and is motivated to see you succeed.
Referral hires convert at 4.8× the rate of cold applications. The introduction is the difference.
How does a referred candidate get prioritized vs. job board applicants?+
Companies on Credora choose to use the platform specifically because they want pre-vetted, personally-endorsed candidates instead of an unfiltered application pile. Your introduction has already passed an AI quality gate. The hiring manager who sees your profile has opted into a high-signal pipeline — you're not competing with 200 cold applications.
What does the CredScore™ on my referrer's profile mean for me?+
Your referrer's CredScore™ is a measure of their track record on the platform — how many of their previous introductions were accepted, advanced through interviews, and converted to hires. A referrer with a high CredScore™ carries more weight in the hiring manager's eyes. It's an endorsement of the endorsement.
